About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I am a bit confused about the intended number of entries to China

Hi, I'm a US citizen and I want to travel to Shanghai first but the same day take the train to Beijing, then Xi'an and then Shanghai for a total of 8 days. How many entries are for my trip?

Diana, you only need a single entry as you just cross the border once and then move around mainland PRC.
