What do you refer to the city center?
Take Wangfujing Avenue as an example, after getting the luggage and going outsides, you can take shuttle bus line 13 to get to Overseas Chinese Building. Then walk north around 100 yards (90 meters) to find the destination. In usual time, the duration is about an hour. But it will takes 1.5 hours or more time in peak times.

There is another choice for you.
Take airport express to get to Dongzhimen Station. It takes around half an hour. Then take subway line 2 to Chaoyangmen and line 6 to Dongsi Station, Exit E. The duration is about 10 mins. After that, walk west along West Dongsi Avenue around 650 yards (600 meters).
