do i qualify 72 hour transit (tourist) visa

I have USA Passport and travel multiple Cities in Asia.   I fly into PEK on China Air Arrive 0045 Feb 29.  I have confirmed reservation in Beijing Hotel.  I  depart on Qatar Air Mar 3, @ 1:20 AM.   I should qualify for 72 hr free transit,  Because Arrival time in Beijing @ 0045 means that day is not the start of 72 hrs time limit.

Dear, the thing is different in Beijing. The 72 hours there start from the moment you handle all the procedures after getting off from the plane, so you exceed the 72 hour actually. But you just exceed half an hour or so, I think you have a chance to enjoy it. You can contact with the airline can see whether you can enjoy the free transit or not.
