About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Frankfurt - Shanghai - Frankfurt

Hi there!
I'm planning to go to Shanghai for 2 days. I will fly from Frankfurt to Shanghai then I will stay there for a period less that 72 hours and I will come back to Frankfurt. I have 1 reservation number for both flights (FRA-PVG & PVG-FRA).

Am I eligible for the 72 hour free transit ?

Thanks.

Joao, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit because after a transit in Shanghai, you fly back to Frankfurt. If you want to use the 72 hour free transit, after transiting in Shanghai, you should fly to a third country or region.
You’d better apply for a tourist L type entry permit ahead of your journey.
