About:Visa Policy of China

Z visa on mainland, Shanghai

I am a South African and currently teaching in Shanghai, can I get a new Z type with a new company whilst in Shanghai if I quit my job and and they cancel my Z type?
Can South Africans still go to HK to apply without going to their home to apply for Z type as before?

Queen, you can probably get a new Z type whist in Shanghai. What you need to do it to cancel your previous work permit first, and then apply for a new work permit with the help of your new employer. Then go to the local exit and entry administration to renew your residence permit.
If you don’t have residence permit in HK, it may be very hard for you to apply for it in HK.
