About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How to apply/get the 24-hour Direct Transit document?

I am disembarking a Princess cruise which ends in Shanghai.
I am taking a shuttle/transfer from the cruise terminal to the Shanghai airport on the SAME day at 3:30pm for a flight back to Canada.

Princess Cruises told me that I need some document Visa/permit to be able to go to the Shanghai airport PVG. How do I apply/get the 24-hour Direct Transit document? Any advice or suggestion?
Thank you.

Guy, when you get off from the cruise ship and pass through the immigration, you can apply for a temporary stay permit and then go to the airport to take the flight.

Hi Luke,
Thanks for the feedback ....
The question is CAN I get this temporary permit beforehand ... because
Princess Cruise will NOT allow me to board the ship in Singapore if I do NOT have this TEMPORARY permit or the Direct Transit ( 24-hour).... with me ...
Is there a way to request this Temporary stay permit before my cruise starts? Cruise starts from Singapore and ends in Shanghai.
Any idea or advice....
Worst-to-worst, I just have to apply one for multiple entries...

Thanks.

Well, it's impossible to get that temporary permit beforehand. It's actually just a stamp on your passport given by the immigration officers. In this case, you should apply for a tourist or transit type before boading the cruise ship.
