About:China Visa Exemption

Arriving from North Korea by train

We arrive on the train from NK on day 1 crossing the border at about 2pm- 230pm. Our flights are at 230pm the following day. Do we require visas? We will have gone through immigration within less than 24 hours of entering China. Does the 24 hour free transit permit us to go from the train station to the airport?

Richard, according to what you said above, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no entry permit is required. But you may need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration office in the train station. It’s free of charge.
