About:Chunyun - Spring Festival Travel Rush in China

hongkong - guangzhou

hi.. I'm planning to visit Guangzhou from Hongkong on Jan 30, and need to be back to Hongkong airport on the 2nd February.
Do you think I can get the train ticket on the spot on the day of departure (I'll be arriving Hongkong on Jan 29), and is it better to take rail to go to Hongkong airport or just take the bus?

It is a little hard to say if it still available on the day of travel since the date meet the rush time. If it sold out, you may take bus for the trip instead or go for Shenzhen first and then to guangzhou. By the way, there is no direct rail connection to HK airport, you need to change to MTR or bus after your arrival.

I read that there's bus from Beijing road in Guangzhou to Hongkong airport..is it safe? And how to pay the ticket?

The most important question.. is it safe to travel to Guangzhou for solo traveler?

I haven't read about the bus from Beijing road, you can ask the local people in Guangzhou like your hotel for help. You may book the bus online via local agent or buy it after you get there. As for the safety you mentioned, as long as you avoid some tourist traps like tea house, cheap electronic products there is no problem.
