About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

16 hr transit at Pudong Airport, Shanghai

Just want to confirm that my case is eligible for 72 hr free visa. I'm traveling with my 22 month old son, leaving Bangkok on 31 January 2016 to Shanghai. We will have 16 hr transit in Shanghai before flying back to San Francisco and I do not want to stay at the airport. Can I apply for 72 hr free program so I can see some of Shanghai?

Paweena, the 24 hour direct transit is suitable for your situation. When you leave the airport, you should apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge.
