About:China Transit Visa

Two connecting flights in PRC

I'm a USA citizen. Planning to fly Del-Guangzhou-Wuhan-SFO on China Southern Flight. I am not leaving air port terminal but I am transiting two cities in PRC? Do I need any transit visa? If yes, can I get before I leave on my trip from SFO to DEL via Guangzhou?

Ramesh, if your total layover time in two Chinese cities is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy 24 hour direct transit and don’t need a transit G type. But if it’s more than 24 hours, you should apply for a transit G type in advance of your trip.

Direct transit allows you enter and exit freely within 24 hours without holding an entry permit. You don't need to do anything in advance if you are eligible for it.
