About:Beijing Capital Airport T2

I am flying from Shanghai on Hainan airline to San Jose, Ca, USA, I have a connecting flight in PEK

Will I have to change terminals in PEK? Also do I go through customs in Shanghai or Beijing?

So both the flights are from Hainan Airlines? If so, you will transfer from Domestic to International within T2, no need to transfer terminals.
If you buy a coupon ticket, you need to go through customs in Shanghai. Otherwise, you need to do that at PEK. By the way, the minimum connection time is 120 minutes. Have a nice trip! :)

Thanks for your answer. I don't know what you mean by a coupon ticket. I am flying from Shanghai to BJ and then to US all flights are with Hainan. Thanks for your answer.

Coupon ticket means through ticket. By the way, you need to go through customs at PEK.
