Do I need a physical boarding pass or just confirmation # for onward travel via PEK?

I will be going NRT-PEK-ICN with 48 hours in PEK. I should be ok for visa free transit but, I'm not sure if I can print a boarding pass for my flight to ICN as proof that I'm going to a third country. Will they accept just a confirmation #? Any suggestions?
