Proof of Residence in Thailand

I am an American citizen and I would like to fly down to Bangkok to get a new Q visa (I have all the right things for that part). What I'm a little worried about is the requirement for proof of legally being in Thailand. Do I need more than my entry stamp on my passport? I won't have a Thai work entry permit or anything more than the standard entry permit-waiver stamp.

Karl, in my opinion, the stamp on your passport is enough to prove your legal stay.
