Extend the 72-hour transit visa

If I am in Shanghai already using the 72-hour free transit. Is it really no way that I can extend it for another 24 hours? Is there a close port that I can exit and re-entry etc?

Dear, in general, the 72-hour free transit permit cannot be extended. If you cannot leave PRC indeed for some special circumstances, you should go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to apply for a relevant entry permit.
Sionce you are using the 72 hour free transit, you have to exit from an airport in Shanghai.
