About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does this qualify for a 72 hr visa?

I am arriving in Hong Kong and joining cruise ship. We are due to stay overnight in the port of Xingang for Beijing leaving the following day and not entering mainland China again.

Dear, you are not eligible for the 72 hour policy because the policy is only applicable to those taking a flight.
But you can use the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit either.
