About:Visa Policy of China

Tourist Visa - L type

I'm hoping to visit my daughter in China in April. I'm aiming to apply for my L type in March (Irish Passport living in the UK). Been looking at flights, it is wise to book my flights now or should I apply first?

Book plane tickets first, then the application for day longer than visit for plane delays. Good to send tickets for prove of going.
