travel documents might also be needed for countries in which you only transfer

Am travelling from SA to Wuhan through Dubai, do I need a visa for transit?

May, I’m afraid you need one for transiting in Dubai.

Dear Lucy.

I just called the airline (Emirates) to find out if I need an entry permit to transit, they advised that I need one if am leaving/going outside the airport. Since I will not be outside the airport they said I only need my passport while am waiting to transit *confused*
