About:Top 8 Reasons Why Your China Visa Gets Rejected

Do I need transit visa? I am a Canadian passport holder.

I will be flying from Kathmandu - Vancouver. Air China give me the routing as KTM - Chengdu (12 hour lay over) - Beijing (6 hour lay over) - Vancouver. Do I need a permit to enter China? Or do I qualify for the transit permit / or free 72 hr free layover?

Hi Thomas, you qualify for the 24-hour direct transit, so the entry permit is not necessary.
