About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Canadian Passport, flight route: Toronto - Taipei - Beijing - Bangkok

Is it okay? Or, can they not stop in Taipei beforehand?
Confused as to how Hong Kong and Taiwan are regarded

Jay, it’s okay. You can stop in Taipei. Because the exit and entry policies in HK and Taiwan are different from that of mainland PRC, when speaking of the 72 hour policy, the two places are regarded as separate entities.
