Bus transport from Dali to Lijiang

For travel on 2/4/2016, do I need to book the bus ticket beforehand or can I purchase on the spot?

Yes, there are many coaches that can take you to Lijiang. The schedules are from 7:00 to 18:30 with the frequency of 30 mins. You don't need to buy the tickets in advance. Just buy them when arriving at the bus station.
