If you stay in Shanghai for less than 24 hours and will fly to a country/region which is different to your departure country/region, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. You don’t need to apply for an entry permit.Otherwise, you need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type ahead of your trip.
