Working visa for American that lives in Thailand

I am an American living in Thailand. I might have a job offering in China and wonder if I can get the working Z type from the PRC consulate/embassy in Thailand or not? I also have a Thai wife and a son that will go to PRC with me. What kind of entry permt will they need?

Adam, it's ok, you can apply from Thailand. Your wife and kid should apply for an S type entry permit. You need to tell your company to include their names on the invitation letter from Duly Authorized Unit so that all of you can do the application at a same time.
