Place to stay in Chengdu

Which is the preferred district for tourists to stay where it is convenient to get around and with good local eateries nearby?

I am a native girl. I highly recommend you stay near Chunxi Road or Wuhou Temple. The former is a famous pedestrian in town, where you can find many local eateries. The latter is a famous atraction worth your time. Moreover, the transportation nearby is convenient and Chunxi Road metro station on line 2 is within walking distance.

'pedestrian' means people, i think you mean 'pedestrian zone' - car-free zone?

I am sure she meant this. I had a visit at Chunxi Road, which is pedestrian walking indeed and is really worth your time.
