Visa requirement for Indian arrving Lhasa through Kathmandu

I wish to tour china with entry at Lhasa-Xian-Beijing-Shanghai exit. The plan is to enter Lhasa through Khatmandu from India and exit from shanghai to India through Columbu. If I apply chinese entry permit in Indian consulate, Am I allowed to enter at Lhasa from khatmandu provided I get an entry permit for visiting Lhasa.
