Hi, I have a Canadian visa, but am living in Japan. I will go back to Canada via Hong Kong.

I have a working entry permit for Japan. Do I need one to enter HK / exit the airport? I am wondering this because I have the chance to do an 18hour layover.

Can I know which passport you hold? Because passport holders of some countries can enjoy free entry to HK. If you are not one of those countries, you should apply for a transit entry permit in advance.

If so, you don’t need to apply for any entry permit because Canadian passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of not exceeding 90 days.
