About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Do I need a visa if we stay on the ship as we have visited Beijing before?

I am due to arrive Beijing china on the 21st of march 2016 and depart 22nd of march on the P&O ARCADIA.

David, you don’t need it because you can use the 24 hour direct transit.

Thank you for the reply on our visit, Question. if the ship docks A.M on the 21st and does not leave until P.M on the 22nd I.E 36 hours stop over are we still covered on the 24 hour exemption?

Dear, if it’s 36 hours, I’m afraid you cannot enjoy it any more. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type ahead of your trip.

The G type is a transit entry permit, while the L type is an entry permit for tourists. Both are ok for your travel. You can apply one from the CVASC branch in London, Edinburgh or Manchester.
