About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Indian passport and am traveling from India to US on a US visa, transiting through Beijing

transiting through Beijing for 22 hours. Can I go outside the Airport in Beijing for these 22 hours without an entry permit?

Mark, you can go out of the airport in Beijing. What you need to do is to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration counter in Beijing Airport. It's free of charge.
