hello!! I am planning to visit PRC where my friend has an established business. he is indian married to Chinese national and has been there for last 10 years . he is located in a small province ( an industrial town ). I want to go for 3 months : how much will it cost for the visa and what documents do I require apart from my passport and tkt

Dear, will you apply for a tourist L type? If yes, you can ask your friend issue an invitation letter to you. In this way, excluding your passport, you just need to provide the application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo. It usually charges 4982 Rupees.  If you cannot get an invitation letter, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation are needed apart from the above-mentioned basic documents.Personally, I think you had better apply for a business M type because with L type, you cannot stay for 3 months. However, with M type, you may get stay duration for 3 months. The two types charge the same.
