About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

74 hours trip inbound and 48 ours outbound in China

Hi I'm travelling to beijing from heathrow on 22 march and leaving bejiing to fly to new zealand on the 26th of march. I will be returning home (UK) from auckland via guangzhou in china where i will be staying for another 2 nights in Guangdong. Will i still require a VISA?

Dear, as for your first transit in Beijing, I’m afraid you cannot use the 72 hour free transit. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance. But you just exceed 2 hours, it may be okay. You'd better contact Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection and confirm. Here is the telephone number: 0086-10-56095400.
When you return and transit in Guangzhou, you are eligible for the 72 hour policy. Have a good trip!
