Visas - married couple with different nationalities

I am British and my wife is Indonesian. We currently live in Indonesia. We are considering a job prospect for me in China, but don't know how our different nationalities would affect our situation when applying for entry permits. I understand I would have to stay in the UK for 3 months while my Z1 type is processed, but could my wife go with me or would she have to do the same in Indonesia for her S type?

Andrew, as far as I see, if you have a valid entry permit or residence permit in Indonesia, you don't have to go back to the UK and stay there 3 months to apply for the Z type. Both of you can do the application in Indonesia actually.
