About:China Transit Visa

Temporary stay permit

Hi, I am a vietnamese citizen with a US permanent resident card. I am travelling from the US to Vietnam in Jan 2016 and will have a layover at Pudong international airport, Shanghai for 23 hours. I am planning to go out to the city, will I need to apply and pay for any type of visa at this time? Or can I apply at the airport?

Dear, you can enjoy 24 hour direct transit, so you needn’t apply for any type. If you want to go out to the city, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport and it is free of charge.
