I'm traveling from San Francisco to New Dehli India. I have 2 lay overs in China. do I need a visa?

KJ, if you stop over in two Chinese cities for less than 24 hours in total, then you can use 24 hour direct trasnit and don't need to apply for any type. However, if the total layover time is more than 24 hours, you need to apply for transit type or tourist type.
