About:Hong Kong Visa Application

Do I (Nepali, student in China) need transit visa to go Nepal via Hongkong.

Myself nepali student in Nanjing unlucklily purchased two way ticket to visit home in spring festival. I was not aware about transit permit in Hongkong. I have student X type (resident permit) till 2017. Do I need transit permit in Hongkong or not? if yes How can I get it?

Yes, you need it. You can apply for it from the HK SAR Office in Beijing or apply via post from HK Immigration Department. Just choose the more convenient way for you. The required documents may include a photocopy of your passport, an application form, a recent photo, a copy of your PRC residence permit and a copy of your flight tickets.

Emily, I am thankful to your reply. How much it cost for transit type, I could not find in web page of immigration office. I understand, no need to send my original passport I am right or not?

Kongyang, a transit type costs around HKD 100. Yes, copies of your passport information page and entry records (if any) are ok, according to the website of HK Immigration Department.
