About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

flight not applicable for 72 hour transit visa

Hi,
I am (Croatian citizen) trying to book a flight to Sydney from Frankfurt with China Southern airlines with layover in Guangzhou (less than 10 hours) but on China Southern airline web page there is a notification that this flight is not applicable for the 72 hour free transit. Why is that so? I am afraid to buy this ticket if this is the case.

Thanks

Darko, I have searched the information on the website of this airline also. I found out your flight will stop in two China cities, i.e., Guangzhou and Changsha. This is the reason why you are not eligible. However, I noticed that the total layover time in China is not beyond 24 hours, so the transit permit is still not reuquired as you can make use of the 24-hour free transit. I also found that there are some flights stoping only in one China city. You can book the tickets of such flights if you want to spend more time in PRC.
