Hey, traveling by rail can be a good option. At Hung Hom Railway Station, you can buy a ticket on the spot and board to Guangzhou East. The rail service is available from 07:25 to 20:00. It costs 210HKD per adult and takes around 2 hours. You can also book the ticket online in advance. I know Travel China Guide, a superb travel agency, offers the service. Their contact is bookingtravelchinaguide.com for your reference.
