About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Transit permit requirement if onward flight delayed Beyond 24 hours.

am travelling from Canada to India on student visa (Indian Passport). my layover is for 18 hours. What if onwards flight is delayed and stay at airport is beyond 24 hours. Do i require transit entry permit?

No, you don't need to take transit entry permit when you fly in. But if there is a delay and your layover at the airport is beyond 24 hours, you need to go to the local public security bureau to apply for a visa.
