converting x2 visa to x1 in china

Question

Hi. i am going to Chongqing to study Chinese. I already booked a flight for 1/8/16 but then school doesn't start until 2/15/16. I don't really want to change the flight date. i want to explore the country before school starts. So what can I do? I don't think the school allow change from L to X1. Thanks in advance!

Ben, it's almost impossible to change X2 into X1 too. Your best choice is to change your flight date. If you don't want to, then you can use your X2 to enter. But duration of stay will be counted from 00:00 next day upon your entry. I don't know if you have enough time for your study because you arrive almost one month in advance. If you come early and your school can't help you extend your X2, then you will leave before you finish your course. I guess this isn't what you want, right?
