About:Hong Kong Visa Application

Family visit in hongkong, what is the best visa type and how long can i stay here?

My husband work in hong kong and i want to come to visit him with my baby girl.

I am holding a sri lankan passport(only they allow 14 days to visit entry permit). I asked from srilankan chinese embassy to get visit type for hong kong , they told me, my husband should apply for both of us, is it true?

Actually, it's more convenient for your husband to apply on your behalf. He can bring your applications to HK Immigration Department directly. If you apply via Chinese embassy in your country, it might take four to six weeks if the embassy doesn't issue the entry permit and transfer your applications to HK Immigration Department.

If you plan to stay longer with your husband, you both can apply for the entry for Residence as dependants. It requires copies of your marriage certificate, your baby's birth certificate, passports, your recent passport photos and filled ID997 form (Part A). For your husband, he needs to fill ID997 form (Part B), copies of his HK Identity Card, his passport, financial standings (bank statement, tax receipts and salary slips) and accommodation proof (rental receipts).

Yes, dependent application will submit this tuesday, i want to konw, before it will get approve, can i extend my visit type.
How long will take to get visit type?

It takes the same time to deal with your visit type. If you don't apply for a visit type, then you should apply for the dependent type directly. If you got your visit type, you can extend it. But I am not sure if it will affect your dependent type application.
