About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying standby from Shanghai, will this be a problem for a transit or 72 hour visa?

Hi, I am flying into Shanghai then flying standby for my departing flight to the United States (if all goes well, should be less than 24 hours, definitely less than 72 hours). I won't have a confirmed seat until much closer to departure time.
Thank you!

Abby, standby air ticket isn't ok. Without confirmed air ticket, you can't make use 24 / 72 hours free transit.
