I'll be in harbin going to changbaishan to visit heaven lake.

1. You are suggested to take train to Dunhua Train Station. The train schedules are 09:07, 14:06 and 18:56. You can search the ticket fare and departure station on this website. After arriving, you can find many direct coaches that can take you to the scenic area. Coach ride takes about 2 hours.
2. About the accommodation, the hotels inside the scenic area have high prices. So you can find a cheaper hotel in Erdao Baihe Town. Most of them have clean environment and accpetable prices. You can just choose one when you arriving at. Have a nice trip!

where is dunhua located? how long will it take me from harbin to dunhua? can you also give me the train number?

Dunhua is in Yanbian, 90 miles to the north of Erdao Baihe Town.

The train D112 leaves from Harbin Railway Station at 9:07, and the duration is 3.5 hours. The train D116 leaves from Harbin West Railway Station, and the duration is 3.5 hours. The train 2036 leaves from Harbin Railway Station, and the duration is 9 hours. :)

I also have plan to visit Changbaishan from Harbin next Jan 2018.
I got some recommendations throughout the internet and somehow make me confuse.

So is there any direct train from Harbin to Erdaobaihe?
Or I have to transit first at another town before proceed to Erdaobaihe?

Because I plan to stay at Chang-bai-shan Woodland International Youth Hostel / 'Chang Qu Er You' (场区二幼) before proceed to go to mountain.

As I know, no direct from Harbin to Erdaobaihe, so you need to Dunhua first.
