About:Shanghai Tourist Bus

We want to go to the Yangcheng lake lianhua island from Shanghai for a 1 day trip.

Hi, Can you advise how to go about it and the cost for 3 adults and a child. Thanks.

Thanks Hank, very helpful. Would you happen to know if it will be easy to catch a cab back from the island/village back to Suzhou railway station? Am just worried we will get stranded without transport back.

I remember there were more private cars than taxis on the island. It is usually easy to hire one. If you are afraid of not getting back properly, why not hire a taxi from Suzhou for a round trip?

Any idea how much it will cost? We plan to spend some time on the island, about 3-4 hours in all. Sorry alot of questions.

But Hank from Canada has told you the fare for the round trip. CNY100 or around can be totally enough and the driver will certainly wait for you during your visit.

Hi Ellen, I know Hank has mentioned a round trip. A round trip does not necessary include waiting time. I have done some research after that and one way from Suzhou cost around 50 plus to 60 RMB so return is around 100plus which is in line to what was advise. If the driver is willing to wait for free, I be more than happy. If I gotta pay which is reasonable since it takes up half a day, just want to have a gauge on the amount. Will find out on the day then.

At the Main Railway Station, take a high speed train to Suzhou within 40min. The fare is CNY39.5 for a second class seat and CNY59.5 for a first class seat. Then you can rent a taxi or private car to Lianhua Island with the purpose of saving time. The round trip cost is CNY100-120.
