The entry of Hong Kong from mainland of China is considered the exit of PRC?

Hi, I'm American citizen. I have multiple entry tourist visa and I'm allowed to be able to stay in mainland for 90 days. If I enter HK from mainland and reenter mainland, the days I stay in PRC should be counted started from the day I reenter mainland, is that correct?

Yes, you are right. Entering HK from mainland is considered as exiting from PRC. The days you stay in PRC should be counted from the day you reenter mainland.
