About the six month balance statement.

I'm working on a historical fiction book that takes place in 100 B.C. and wanted to visit the forbidden city. I am a poor writer, do I need the six month balance statement? I have published one book already.

Dear, you can present hotel booking confirmation and round-trip air tickets instead of your balance statement.

Does that means, hotel confirmation and round ticket exempt you from account balance and account statement? And the initation letter, does it also carry the same right? What if the invitation letter is from a Chinese student (with little money) is it still enough?

Jeff, the invitation letter can replace hotel confirmation and round-trip air tickets. As for the financial proof, it isn't required for people from UK, USA and other developed countries. However, people from certain countries, for example, Sri Lanka.
