would it be possible to get a tourist visa so that i can travel China once i have left my job?

Hi, i am presently working in China and have a residence permit for one year, as issued through my employer.

Yes, it’s possible for you to get a L type. You can go to the exit and entry administration of the PSB to apply for it and you need to present the release letter and cancellation paper of the work permit as well as the application form and recently-taken color photo, the passport and its photocopy, your travel plan, hotel booking record and the return air tickets.

The Chinese embassy website is very good. It will tell you want you need to know. There is the Chinese embassy in Makati, once you have all your documents.
