About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Can I apply for a Hongkong visa from New York City?

I'm a student with US F-1 permit. My nationality is Vietnamese. Today I went to Consulate General of Peole's Republic of China in New York. They told me that I cannot obtain a tourist entry permit to Hong Kong from there even on their website it said that's the right place. I'm very confused right now.

Linh, it doesn't matter. You can still apply while your are in New York. You need to mail your application documents to the HK Immigration Department directly.
The address is:
Receipt and Despatch Sub-unit
Hong Kong Immigration Department
2/F, Immigration Tower
7 Gloucester Road
Wan Chai, Hong Kong
