About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is 72 hours visa applicable?

I need to visit a factory in Shanghai for some training and return home after 3 days. Is this 72 hours free transit applicable to a return flight of this nature? My passport is Ireland which is on the list.

Charles, if you fly back to your country from Shanghai directly, then you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit. It’s because you just fly back to the departure country and the 72 hour policy stipulates that passengers should fly to a third country or region after the transit.
