About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Free Transit Allowance in Beijing

Hi
I'm French planning on transiting to Beijing for 72hours before heading to Thailand. Flying into Beijing at 5.10pm on 16th. Does the transit allowance start at midnight on the same day? Does it mean I could change my flight for an earlier one on 16th? Thanks a lot!

Hello, Rebecca. In Beijing, the 72 hours counts from the moment you complete all the relevant transit procedures at the airport to your departure time. You can change your flight as long as you won’t exceed 72 hours.
