Transfer of a current residents permit in china to a new passport

My friend's old passport expires in december and she has her new passport. Her residents permit is valid until Feb next year but they only specified the date in her old passport as the same date as when her passport expires.
What is the procedure to transfer the current permit to the new passport?

Nidia, actually, your friend does not need to renew her residence permit as it is still valid. She should renew it 30 days before the expiry date at the local exit and entry administration office. I assume it will be January. Currently, she can hold both passpors along with the residence permit. No problem will happen.

Thank you very much. We were only worried that it would be an issue seeing as the date printed on the residents permit in her old passport is the same date as the expiry date of the old passport.
So if she just kept her copy of the application for any questioning, will it be okay?

I think it's better to take the old passport instead of a copy of it.

Oh, I meant the copy of the form for application of the residents permit. :-) So they can see it is valid for a year. haha.

Haha, of course she can take this with her in case of being questioned.
