Transit 24 Hours at Guangzhou and STPC

We are heading US and transit at Guangzhou with layover approximately 24 hours. Do we have to apply a visa from China Embassy back home instead applying from Frontier Inspection Office when we landed to have a STPC?

Rhzal, you should make sure that your transit is no more than 24 hours (period between your scheduled arrival and departure time). In this case, you needn't apply in advance. Upon arrival, you just need to show your passport and onward air ticket to acquire 24 hours free transit. It's actually just a stamp on your passport.

Thanks Rick for your info. I did check the schedule it shows even less than 24-hours, between arrive to departure time.
