About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruise ship passengers please

we are doing a cruise which comes through China. We will be in Hong Kong for less than 24 hours. Then have 3 days at sea then come into xingang from 7 am one day & departing next day at 10pm do we need a visa & if so what sort please.

Val, of course you don't need the entry permit for HK because you hold Australian passports. For mainland PRC, if your transit period is not more than 24 hours, you don't need the entry permit either. In case that the time is longer than 24 hours, please apply for a G type in advance.
